Yesterday morning LFEO was in St Rochus/Roch church, a modern building close to North station, with a very active African (mainly from Congo) community going to church every sunday. Singing, dancing, so much joy, shaking hands, birthday cards and mothersday, thee afterwards… and a LFEO at the beginning of the mass. The choir gave up some songs for us, père H. skipped one official part of the Mass. It was a complex situation: the colonial history – the religious tradition of stories, community building, silences… – a public space – etc. Resonance and criticality.
